My Story

Born and raised in Plano, TX., I graduated from Plano Senior Highschool and originally attended the University of North Texas as a Music Education major. I quickly discovered that I craved more artistic freedom than my strictly-classical program allowed and spent the better part of the next decade discovering what my new direction should be. I started taking costume commissions, attended the occasional college course, worked as both a waitress and a Geek Squad repair tech to make ends meet before muscling my way up the corporate ladder of a local software company. I had nearly resigned to a life of stable, monotonous work in corporate client management when the COVID quarantine began, resulting in an onslaught of life events that brought my world into sharp perspective.

I concluded that if I was going to be overworked and underpaid to do something, it may as well be something that I enjoy and am passionate about—no matter how much personal struggle may be involved. Shortly thereafter, left my tenured office job to become a full-time student again where I earned my AA and all three Theatre Certificates that Collin College had to offer (General, Acting, and Technical). I have since been admitted to Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, CO., and am currently finishing up my BFA in Musical Theater.

I currently live in Grand Junction, CO with my husband Jordan and our four cats. When I’m not inundating myself with coursework or working in the Costume Shop, I am often painting, crocheting, drawing, reading, playing video games and D&D, or at the gym. On particularly long breaks I will even stream gameplay and art projects on Twitch—which I discovered was a great way to foster a loving community at a distance during the pandemic. Few things bring me as much fulfillment as creating a safe environment for my peers and I to do what we love in the best way possible, whether it be personally or professionally, and I do my best to bring that attitude with me everywhere I go.
